Who doesn't love it? I always wondered what it was. I think it is Orange Blossom Water. I have orange blossom water in my fridge and it smells like Coppertone. Can anyone confirm??
Or maybe Coppertone smells like orange blossom water? Smell is a funny sense and sometimes creates and reinforces some intense associations that defy logic.
Can't say about Coppertone--it just smells like the '60s to me.
But there was an old incarnation of Bain de Soliel that my grandmother used that transports me in a Proustian instant back to a beach towel in our back yard, laying there in the sun with her. When she died I found the beach towel, stuck my nose in it, and totally got the hit of the old lotion, even after a million serious German washings. I still have shreds of the towel. I'm shameless.
